Global Bifurcation Behaviors and Control in a Class of Bilateral MEMS Resonators

The investigation of global bifurcation behaviors the vibrating structures micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) has received substantial attention. This paper considers system a typical bilateral MEMS resonator containing fractional functions and multiple potential wells. By introducing new variations, Melnikov method is applied to derive critical conditions for bifurcations. engaging in fractal erosion safe basin depict phenomenon pull-in instability intuitively, point-mapping approach used present numerical simulations which are close agreement with analytical prediction, showing validity analysis. It found that chaos instability, two initial-sensitive phenomena resonators, can be due homoclinic heteroclinic bifurcation, respectively. On this basis, types delayed feedback proposed control complex dynamics successively. Their mechanisms effect then studied. follows under positive gain coefficient, position velocity both reduce instability; nevertheless, suppress chaos, only former effective. results may have some value broadening application fields theory improving performance reliability capacitive devices.
